Greece’s Communist Party Condemns Assassination of Hamas Leader and Attack on Hezbollah in Middle East
The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) strongly denounced the recent attacks on Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and senior Hezbollah commander Fouad Shukr in Beirut by Israel. The party expressed concerns over the escalating violence in the Middle East and criticized the complicity of the Greek government in supporting Israeli actions.
The KKE highlighted the ongoing occupation of territories in Lebanon and Syria by Israel, as well as the atrocities committed against the people of Palestine. They called for solidarity with the affected populations and urged for a stronger stance against Israeli aggression.
Hamas confirmed the killing of their political leader in Tehran by an Israeli airstrike, while Israel targeted a Hezbollah commander in Beirut in retaliation for an attack in the Golan Heights. The Lebanese Health Ministry reported casualties from the strikes, further escalating tensions in the region.
