Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that there are no anti-Russian countries, only anti-Russian elites. Following the failed offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region, Putin believes that peace talks might be on the horizon for Moscow’s opponents.
In a discussion with schoolchildren, Putin revealed that the Ukrainian provocations in the Russian region were driven by political considerations, as the government in Kyiv is hesitant to hold elections. The ongoing military actions by Ukraine aim to hinder Russian offensive in Donbass.
The Russian president highlighted Ukraine’s efforts to suppress Russian culture and language after the coup d’etat. He also noted that external forces were trying to turn Ukraine against Russia. Putin expressed confidence that Russia’s offensive in Donbass was progressing at an unprecedented pace.
Putin concluded that the hostility towards Russia is fueled by elites seeking to weaken and divide the country. As Moscow continues its strategic moves in the region, the prospect of peace talks to resolve the conflict through diplomatic means remains on the table.
