As monsoon rains continue to wreak havoc across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the death toll rises. Five children lost their lives in Balochistan while four people died in KPK in the past day. Since July 1, a total of 39 rain-related deaths have been reported in Balochistan.
A pair of brothers drowned in Zhob District, three children were rescued in Khuzdar District but two passed away in the hospital, and another child drowned in Kech District. Relief and rescue efforts are ongoing in the affected areas.
In KPK, four people lost their lives due to heavy rainfall, with landslides and lightning being the cause. The Karakoram Highway has been reopened after being blocked due to downpours.
