Recently, in a heartbreaking event in Nigeria, hundreds of people gathered for the funeral prayer of the 85 victims of a Boko Haram attack. Led by Yobe State Chief Imam, Sheikh Hud Muhammad Yusuf, the funeral was a somber affair with many paying their respects.
Following the funeral prayer and burial, individuals continued to visit the palace of the first class emir of Jajere, Alhaji Mai Buba ibnu Isa Mashio, to offer prayers and condolences.
The attack occurred at Fudiyya Islamic school where three Shi’a Muslims were martyred and another one was wounded. This tragic incident is a stark reminder of the ongoing terrorism plaguing Nigeria, with Boko Haram responsible for numerous attacks over the years.
Since the death of their leader, Muhammad Yusuf, in 2009, Boko Haram has terrorized Nigerian security agents and civilians, resulting in the death of over 50,000 people and displacing more than 2.5 million individuals.
Despite the challenges faced by Nigeria, the resilience and unity of its people shine through in times of tragedy and loss.
