Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting with Ali al-Ghamrawy, the head of the Egyptian Drug Authority, to discuss the availability of medicines in the Egyptian market. The government has been working hard to ensure the availability of medicines by facilitating customs clearance and securing raw materials for manufacturing.
Madbouly emphasized the importance of the pharmaceutical industry as a priority for the government, aiming to support the industry and the overall industrial sector. Ghamrawy confirmed that the EDA is making significant efforts to increase the supply of medicines in the market, with plans to provide remaining types in the coming weeks.
During the meeting, cooperation efforts between the EDA and the World Health Organization were discussed, along with initiatives to support the pharmaceutical industry based on international standards. Ghamrawy also highlighted the authority’s focus on digital transformation to keep up with global technological advancements, including collaboration with the Unified Procurement Authority in adopting modern technology for drug manufacturing.
