Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called on parliament to engage in dialogue with the people of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to address their security concerns. This comes in light of the escalating security situation in Balochistan following recent terrorist attacks and discontent over enforced disappearances.
According to a report by Pak Institute for Peace Studies, terrorist attacks in August increased to 59 compared to July’s 38. Fazl expressed concern over the government’s diminished authority in Balochistan and KP, where armed groups are reportedly in control.
During a session in the National Assembly, Fazl emphasized the need for parliament to intervene and engage with the affected regions. He criticized the lack of seriousness in responding to security threats and underscored the importance of politicians in resolving national issues.
The JUI-F leader highlighted the proxy war between the US and China in Pakistan, calling for a unified approach to counter terrorism and safeguard national interests. Fazl also addressed the missing persons issue, advocating for transparency and accountability in government actions.
Despite political tensions, Fazl offered his support to the country and urged for collaborative efforts to restore peace and stability.
