Raza called on Shia and Sunni leaders to protest against the proposed amendments by actively participating on the streets.
The joint committee of Parliament discussed the bill with opposition members raising concerns over certain provisions affecting Waqf properties.
By recognizing the ‘Waqf by user’ rule, historic sites would be protected from unwarranted legal challenges.
The committee has invited public feedback and suggestions on the bill’s implications for the next 15 days.
