Driving Innovation in Kazakhstan with inDrive
inDrive, a global platform for transport and urban services, expressed interest in collaborating with Kazakhstan to advance the country’s intellectual industry. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, met with Arsen Tomsky, the founder and CEO of inDrive, to discuss potential partnerships.
One of the proposals put forward by inDrive was the establishment of inVision U, a university in Kazakhstan aimed at training specialists in IT, education, science, and art. The company also plans to launch environmental initiatives to improve air quality in cities, starting with a project in Almaty.
Bektenov emphasized Kazakhstan’s goal of increasing digital technology’s contribution to the economy and boosting IT service exports. He welcomed the presence of large IT companies in the market and stressed the importance of labor legality, transparency, and road safety.
With a presence in 750 cities across 46 countries, inDrive became a unicorn company in 2021 and relocated its office to Almaty in 2022. Currently, about 800 employees work in the Kazakhstan office, highlighting the company’s commitment to driving innovation in the region.
