In preparation for the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), financial oversight is a top priority in Azerbaijan. Working in collaboration with the supreme audit institution, the country is taking measures to ensure transparency and accountability for the funds allocated to the conference.
The state budget has provided financial support to host COP29, which is set to be one of the largest global events of its kind. The goal is to utilize these funds effectively in organizing the conference at a high level and developing the necessary infrastructure.
Through rigorous financial control measures, including evaluating compliance with budget allocations and contract execution conditions, Azerbaijan aims to prevent any potential financial irregularities. The focus is on using the allocated funds efficiently and returning any savings to the budget post-event.
Both international organizations and the State Audit Chamber will conduct a thorough review of all expenses incurred during COP29, ensuring that financial accountability and transparency are maintained throughout the process.
