Niger Delta Youths Demand Reinstatement of NSCDC Commandant
A group of Niger Delta youths, under the South-South Youths Initiative, is calling for the reinstatement of Basil Igwebueze, the Rivers State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps. The group’s President, Imeabe Oscar, highlighted Igwebueze’s professionalism and dedication to his duties, including securing critical government assets and cracking down on illegal bunkering sites in the state.
The statement emphasized the importance of professionalism in appointing heads of security agencies, praising Igwebueze for his contributions to maintaining peace in Rivers State. The group expressed disappointment over Igwebueze’s impending redeployment, urging the NSCDC Commandant General, Audi Ahmed, to reconsider and allow Igwebueze to continue his good work in the state.
The youths credited Igwebueze for enhancing the confidence of Nigerians and Rivers people in the NSCDC through his diligence and commitment to duty. They urged the CG to reinstate Igwebueze, citing his unwavering dedication to serving the people of Rivers State and the South-South region.
