Exciting Changes in Ukraine’s Government: New Foreign Minister Nominated
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has nominated Andrii Sybiha as the country’s new foreign minister, marking the largest government reshuffle since the Russia-Ukraine war began some 30 months ago. The bill for Sybiha’s appointment has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament.
This move comes after the approval of the resignation of Dmytro Kuleba, the former foreign minister, by parliament. Along with Kuleba, Iryna Vereshchuk and Vitaliy Koval were also removed from their positions. The government shake-up signals major changes in Ukrainian politics and governance.
Sybiha, the new foreign minister, has a strong background in diplomacy, having previously served as Ukraine’s ambassador to Türkiye. This appointment comes at a crucial time, with Türkiye playing a key role in peace efforts between Russia and Ukraine.
