PTI Leader Shibli Faraz Reacts to Supreme Court Verdict on NAB Amendments
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shibli Faraz expressed his discontent with the Supreme Court’s verdict on the NAB amendments case, labeling it as “NRO-II” and promising to take the case to the masses. Emphasizing the importance of the case for the national exchequer, Faraz reiterated PTI’s commitment to upholding the Constitution and maintaining law and order in Pakistan during the September 8 public gathering.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court reinstated the NAB amendments law by accepting the federal government’s review plea. The verdict, delivered by a five-member bench with a majority vote of 5-0, highlighted the significance of the decision for the government and the nation. Details of the judgment are expected to be shared later.
Both federal and provincial governments had filed intra-court appeals challenging the constitutionality of the NAB amendments, with the Supreme Court reserving its verdict on the federal government’s appeal back in June. The decision marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing legal battle surrounding accountability in Pakistan.
