Concerned graduates of Tai Solarin University of Education have petitioned the institution’s alumni leadership, demanding accountability for funds contributed. The petition, addressed to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, follows a protest against a 400% increase in alumni membership fees. The graduates urged the executive to explain how funds were spent over the past five years and requested a reversal of the fee hike.
In response to the discontent, the alumni claimed the fee was unjustified and lacked transparency in its utilization. They called for a detailed financial report from the association within three days and demanded the immediate removal of the increased fee from the payment portal. The alumni expressed concerns over the impact of exorbitant fees on members and graduating students.
The association’s Public Relations Officer promised an official response soon, indicating a willingness to address the alumni’s grievances. Transparency and accountability remain key issues in the alumni’s quest for fair financial practices within the institution.
