Authorities in Russia’s Moscow region reported one civilian killed and three injured following a massive drone attack launched by Ukraine. Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed that at least 14 drones were shot down over five cities in the region, with Ramenskoye being the worst hit.
In Ramenskoye, a 46-year-old woman died and three others were injured after a multi-story residential building sustained severe damage. The attack also caused disruptions in flight departures and arrivals at Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports.
Emergency services are currently working at the sites where the drones’ wreckage was found in Moscow. The Russian Defense Ministry announced the interception and destruction of 144 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles across nine regions overnight.
Despite the devastation, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed that 10 drones were intercepted on their way to the city. The situation remains tense as authorities deal with the aftermath of the attack.
