Bolivia’s Foreign Minister warns of Evo-led coup in the making
Bolivia’s Foreign Minister, Celinda Sosa Lunda, has raised concerns about a possible coup against President Luis Arce Catacora orchestrated by former president Evo Morales and his supporters through road blockades and other tactics.
Sosa took to Facebook to express her fears, stating that “A new coup is brewing in Bolivia, led by former President Evo Morales, to shorten President Luis Arce’s term and pave the way for Morales to run for re-election against the constitution’s provisions.”
The escalating tension between Evists and Arcists has led to clashes, with Morales accusing the government of repression and violating human rights. The march by Morales’ supporters aims to address economic challenges and bring Morales back to power, despite constitutional limitations.
The political divide in Bolivia continues to deepen, with Morales and Arce at odds over the country’s future leadership, amidst growing unrest and uncertainty.
