The Iraq-Azerbaijan business forum kicked off in Baku, with the Iraqi Trade Minister and Azerbaijani Minister of Economy leading the event. Organized by various commerce and trade agencies from both countries, the forum saw over 100 business executives coming together to explore partnerships in industries such as agriculture, food, construction, and shipping.
During the forum, the Iraqi Trade Minister emphasized the need for collaboration to strengthen connections and promote Iraqi exports to Azerbaijan. He also highlighted the importance of exploring investment opportunities in the Iraqi market. The Azerbaijani Minister of Economy acknowledged the historical ties between the two countries and praised the efforts to grow their bilateral relations.
Both ministers discussed plans to utilize Azerbaijani knowledge to boost the Iraqi economy and localize gold production. They highlighted the increase in commercial turnover between Iraq and Azerbaijan, with Azerbaijan being home to nearly 170 Iraqi businesses. The forum also saw agreements being signed in various areas such as politics, social affairs, tourism, and transportation.
This collaboration sets the stage for enhanced economic growth and mutual benefits between Iraq and Azerbaijan, paving the way for a fruitful partnership in the future.
