UN member states voted on a resolution demanding the end of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories within 12 months and sanctions for non-compliance. The resolution, based on an ICJ advisory opinion, received 124 votes in favor, 14 against, and 43 abstentions. Despite opposition from the US and other countries, the General Assembly supports the Palestinian cause and calls for peace and justice in the region, urging Israel to heed the demands of the international community.
