The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised concerns over the alleged financial misconduct of the Sokoto State government, calling for an immediate probe into the state’s financial practices. The party criticized Governor Aliyu’s administration for what it termed as reckless spending on projects like street fencing, which cost a staggering N30 billion.
The PDP claimed that the former governor, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and his cabinet are ready to face any scrutiny regarding their activities. They accused Governor Aliyu of diverting public funds towards unnecessary projects, such as repairing boreholes for N1.2 billion and street fencing.
The party urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to investigate the alleged financial discrepancies and lack of transparency in Governor Aliyu’s administration. They argued for fairness and justice for the people of Sokoto State.
The PDP reiterated the transparency of Senator Tambuwal’s administration and emphasized the need for accountability in the handling of public funds. They called for a thorough investigation into the N30 billion street fencing project to uncover any potential corruption.
