A Perth woman who faked her own death has been denied bail in light of new fraud charges from the Financial Crime Squad.
Karen Salkilld, a mother-of-two, allegedly manipulated bank account details linked to two businesses, including F45 Bassendean, to access payments by transferring funds to her personal accounts.
She fraudulently obtained $59,000 from F45 Bassendean owner’s account and a total of nearly $156,000 through false invoices in both cases.
Salkilld’s deceitful actions led to the closure of her F45 businesses in Dianella and Applecross with a pending plea of not guilty for the new charges.
Despite denying involvement in the offenses during police questioning, Salkilld remains in custody due to the risk of re-offending if released on bail.
