Enhancing Citizens’ Standard of Living: Social Protection Fund Begins Distribution of Family Income Benefits
The Social Protection Fund (SPF) has taken a significant step in improving the lives of citizens by initiating the distribution of Family Income Benefits. Ibrahim bin Mahmoud al Baridi, Director of Communication and Media at SPF, announced that 79,000 families in the first phase of the programme will receive financial support through this initiative, replacing traditional social security pensions previously provided by the Ministry of Social Development.
Of the 79,000 families, 25,000 have already registered for the Family Income Benefits, with 12,732 meeting the eligibility criteria. Registration for the remaining eligible categories will open in October and run until the end of 2024. Those in need of data corrections will be contacted via text messages by SPF.
The SPF’s ultimate goal is to ensure a decent life for all members of society by providing comprehensive social protection and access to essential support systems. This initiative aims to create a foundation for dignified living for all citizens.
