The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Edo State governorship election. Prof. Faruq Adamu Kuta, the Returning Officer, announced Okpebholo’s victory with 291,667 votes, winning 11 out of 18 LGAs, defeating his closest rival Ighodalo from the PDP.

Background and Age: Okpebholo, born in Uromi, Edo State, is 54 years old.
Academic Background: He holds a degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Benin and a Master’s and PhD from the University of Ibadan.

Philanthropy: Through his foundation, he provides scholarships, healthcare, and vocational training for disadvantaged communities.
Family and Faith: Okpebholo is a devoted family man, married with four children, and a member of the RCCG.
His political journey began in 2003 when he was elected to the House of Representatives under the PDP.
