Intensive Israeli Airstrikes in Lebanon
The Israeli army conducted extensive airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Monday, the heaviest bombardment since hostilities began on Oct. 8. Fighter jets targeted multiple areas in southwestern and southeastern Lebanon, resulting in casualties. One person was killed and 20 others were injured, according to Lebanese media.
Key locations hit by the airstrikes include the Lebanese Italian Hospital in Tyre, Jbal El Botm, and areas along the Litani River. The Israeli army confirmed over 150 airstrikes, with plans to target more Lebanese villages up to 80 kilometers from the border.
Tensions between Hezbollah and Israel escalated after a deadly airstrike on Friday killed dozens in Beirut’s southern suburb. Hezbollah leaders were among the casualties, prompting retaliatory strikes from Israel.
While the Lebanese government and Hezbollah blame Israel for recent explosions, Tel Aviv has not confirmed its involvement. The cross-border warfare between Hezbollah and Israel dates back to the Israeli war on Gaza, sparking ongoing conflict.
