“You do not exist in the land of our ancient ancestors… Go to Jordan before our holy army wakes up.”
The Israeli Promised Land settler association is ramping up efforts to push Palestinians out of the occupied West Bank towards Jordan. Propaganda posters and flyers have been distributed, urging residents to leave, citing safe routes and a looming threat if they do not comply.
Residents are being directed to specific destinations in Jordan from various West Bank cities. The inflammatory campaign, including messages from far-right Minister Bezalel Smotrich, has caught the attention of the Jordanian Embassy, which has formally addressed the issue with Israel.
Jordan has sought clarification on the involvement of Israeli government support for settler activities. The settlements in the West Bank are deemed illegal under international law, with a recent UN resolution demanding Israel’s withdrawal from Palestine within twelve months.
This escalating situation reflects the ongoing tension and struggle for land and rights in the region.
