In a recent cyberattack, specialists from Ukraine’s HUR disabled the operations of two major Russian Federation banks, causing disruptions to internet banking services and mobile apps. The HUR source stated that these actions will continue until the last occupier leaves Ukraine, emphasizing that all financial institutions funding the occupying army are legitimate targets. This attack is part of a series of cyberattacks by Ukrainian intelligence hackers on Russia’s digital networks and infrastructure.
On previous occasions, HUR cyber specialists targeted Russian TV company servers, broadcasting videos of the war in Ukraine, and destroyed internet networks and infrastructure in Russia in collaboration with the hacker group “BO Team.” The latest attack on the Russian federal center “Osnovanie” deprived users of digital signature certification for over a week, with a message left on the site promising to use proceeds from selling data to support the Ukrainian armed forces.
The ongoing cyber warfare highlights Ukraine’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and expelling Russian forces from its territory through unconventional means.
