War crimes in Ukraine: Russian soldiers buried as missing to avoid compensation
A disturbing intercepted call by Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) exposes how fallen Russian soldiers are simply buried on the battlefield to be labeled as missing, denying their families any payment. The man in the call reveals that due to the heat of battle, the bodies start to decompose, making it easier to hide the fatalities. Furthermore, the cancellation of identification tags for soldiers in 1942 adds to the difficulty of identifying the fallen soldiers.
The investigation by “Slidstvo.Info” revealed that Russian women have been desperately searching for their missing loved ones with little help from the Russian government. It is discovered that Russia finds it more convenient and cost-effective to declare the dead as missing, as compensation for a fallen soldier can range from 7 to 12 million rubles.
