Argentina Moves Away from Neutrality, Milei Speaks at UN
Argentine President Javier Milei announced at the United Nations General Assembly in New York that Argentina would no longer maintain its traditional neutrality and instead take a stance on global conflicts. He criticized the UN for pushing an ideological agenda rather than promoting peace by accommodating brutal dictatorships.
Milei emphasized that the 2030 agenda, while well-intentioned, was a socialist program undermining nation-state sovereignty and human rights. He condemned the UN for veering away from its initial purpose of defending human rights and enabling violations of freedom, including harsh lockdowns in 2020.
He also criticized the UN’s tolerance towards oppressive regimes like Cuba and Venezuela while showing hostility towards Israel. Milei warned against the detrimental impact of promoting collectivist policies and highlighted the failure of past collectivist practices in Argentina.
