Hezbollah Fighters Disabled in Mass Explosion
Some 1,500 Hezbollah fighters were disabled after their communication devices exploded simultaneously last week, causing severe injuries. The explosions resulted in 37 deaths and around 3,000 injuries across Lebanon. While this incident dealt a significant blow to Hezbollah, it only affected a small fraction of their total force of 40,000 to 50,000 members.
Israeli Strikes and Hezbollah Retaliation
Following the explosions, Israel conducted airstrikes targeting Hezbollah in southern and central Lebanon, resulting in heavy losses for the terrorist group. In retaliation, Hezbollah launched rockets and drones at Israeli communities, leading to casualties and damage.
Impact on Displaced People
Over 95,000 people have been displaced from southern Lebanon due to the ongoing conflict, seeking refuge in temporary shelters across the country. The economic impact of this displacement has caused a surge in prices, especially in Beirut.
Despite the challenges, Hezbollah remains a formidable enemy, showcasing resilience in the face of adversity.
