Welcome to our latest blog post where we bring you the most recent news from the Cabinet meeting in Yerevan on September 26. The highlight of the meeting was the approval of the 2025 state budget draft.
The Finance Minister, Vahe Hovhannisyan, presented the key figures of the budget which includes 2 trillion 873 billion drams in revenues, with 2.76 trillion coming from tax revenue. The focus for the upcoming year is on improving the tax-GDP ratio through better tax administration, combating the shadow economy, and implementing other tax policies to reach the 25% target set under the government program.
When it comes to expenditures, the state budget for 2025 is set at 3 trillion 482 billion drams. This includes 2 trillion 749 million for current expenditures and 733 billion drams for capital expenditures. Notably, the share of capital expenditures in the GDP is expected to reach 6.6% in 2025.
