Ukraine is grappling with a significant humanitarian crisis, with 55,000 citizens missing due to war, occupation, and disasters, as reported by Deputy Interior Minister Leonid Tymchenko. This figure highlights the devastating impact of Russia’s full-scale war on the country, leading to illegal deportations, kidnappings, and numerous casualties among both military personnel and civilians.
The unified register for missing persons in Ukraine continues to grow, with a substantial increase from 42,000 in July. This number does not even account for the Ukrainian children forcibly taken to Russia, Belarus, or occupied territories, exceeding 19,500.
On a positive note, Ukraine’s efforts have helped locate 588 missing Russian soldiers, with 533 found alive among prisoners of war. Around 100 soldiers have been successfully exchanged and returned to Russia.
