Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has denounced Israel’s actions in the Middle East, stating that it should not be allowed to target countries in the “Axis of Resistance” led by Iran. Following the death of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon and Israeli bombings of Houthi targets in Yemen, Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of supporting Lebanon in this conflict.
He warned that allowing Israel to continue its attacks unchecked could lead to further destabilization in the region. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards also suffered a loss during the attack that killed Nasrallah, with deputy commander Abbas Nilforoushan among the casualties.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani condemned the recent Israeli strikes in Yemen, highlighting the targeting of civilian infrastructure. This is not the first time Israel has conducted such attacks in the region, with previous bombings in July targeting energy infrastructure in Hodeidah.
Iran is calling for a united response against Israel’s aggression, warning of the potential consequences for regional and international peace and security.
