The ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra has emerged victorious in all electoral positions contested during the local government council polls held on Sept. 28. The elections took place in 21 local government councils across 326 council wards in the state, with APGA securing all 21 chairmanship seats and councillorship positions. The results were officially announced by Mrs Genevieve Osakwe, Chairman of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC), at the Commission’s office in Awka.
Osakwe affirmed the credibility of the election, commending the people of Anambra for their participation and the security agencies for maintaining peace throughout the process. The elected Chairmen for various LGAs include Dr Chibueze Ofobuike, Mr Ifeanyi Chiweze, Mr Fidelis Nnazo, Mr Romanus Ibekwe, Mr ThankGod Anago, Mr Chinedu Okafor, and Mr Alphonsus Ofumelu, among others.
With only APGA agents present at the announcement of the results, it is evident that the party has secured a significant victory in the local government council polls in Anambra.
