At a rally in Las Vegas, Vice President Kamala Harris pledged to double resources at the Justice Department to combat cartels and stem the flow of fentanyl into the U.S. In response to false claims by former President Donald Trump that she wishes to legalize the drug, Harris reiterated her commitment to tackling the opioid crisis that has devastated communities across the country.
With over 100,000 drug overdose deaths last year, Harris emphasized the need for comprehensive immigration reform, contrasting her approach with Trump’s border policies. Despite facing criticism from Trump, Harris remains steadfast in her goal to provide a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and Dreamers.
More than 7,500 attendees gathered at the rally, showing support for Harris’s agenda. This event marked her second visit to Nevada since announcing her presidential campaign, reaffirming her commitment to addressing key issues facing the nation.
