Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has made it clear to 25 European and global countries that Israel is not seeking a ceasefire in Lebanon. Katz emphasized the need for Hezbollah to withdraw beyond the Litani River and disarm, stating that Israel will continue its actions until the safety of its citizens is ensured and residents in the north can return home safely.
Katz highlighted the importance of implementing all previous UN Security Council resolutions regarding Lebanon in order to reach a ceasefire. He defended Israel’s actions, including the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, as justified countermeasures against planned attacks on Israel. The Israeli government is firm in its stance on Hezbollah, insisting on their retreat and disarmament for peace and security in the region.
