Flooding in Warrap State: Urgent Call for Aid
The residents of Mangar Ajak village in Gogrial West County, along with neighboring villages, are facing a dire situation after being displaced by floods, according to authorities in Warrap State. The state flood management committee recently assessed the affected areas and found an urgent need for both food and non-food items for the displaced population.
Warrap State Information Minister William Wol, who heads the flood management committee, blamed the lack of proper road design for exacerbating the flooding. He highlighted the challenges faced by the community, including a rise in diseases like snakebites and malaria.
Health Minister Solomon Bol echoed the call for assistance, emphasizing the urgent need for medicines and basic supplies to address the health issues arising from the flooding.
Gogrial West Commissioner Victor Wek reported widespread problems induced by the floods and emphasized the urgent need for support in the affected areas. Meanwhile, residents like Awien Dut and Ngong Akol shared their struggles and called for immediate aid and assistance from the government and humanitarian organizations.
