Turkey is ready to evacuate its citizens from Lebanon by air and sea, while also coordinating with approximately 20 countries to assist in evacuating foreign nationals, according to the Foreign Ministry. Amid escalating security conditions due to Israel’s ground invasion of south Lebanon, a coordination center has been established to handle evacuation requests as per Turkish institutional plans.
The recent Israeli offensive in Lebanon followed a week of intense air strikes, prompting international calls for restraint. Turkey condemned the invasion as unlawful and called for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli troops to prevent further escalation and a potential new wave of migration.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan urged the UN and international organizations to intervene and stop Israel’s aggressive actions. He warned that if not addressed promptly, Israel’s aggression could extend to Turkey, likening Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler.
In a strong statement, Erdoğan emphasized the need for swift action to prevent further violence and called for international support to hold Israel accountable.
