ISLAMABAD: Experts have raised concerns that some segments of Pakistani diaspora abroad are becoming increasingly polarized, often prioritizing political affiliations or external agendas over the broader interests of Pakistan.
They believe that this division has led to unintended consequences, including a growing disconnect with domestic populations, the dissemination of divisive narratives, and the undermining of Pakistan’s international standing.
The Pakistani diaspora, comprising millions of individuals living abroad, has always played a crucial role in shaping the global perception of Pakistan. As the face of the country in foreign lands, this community is an important ambassador for Pakistan’s culture, values, and interests.
However, experts have noticed that the diaspora have now become conduits for narrow political agendas, which not only undermine their own credibility but also have the potential to harm Pakistan’s national interests.

“When the diaspora, who are seen as the identity of Pakistan and its representatives abroad, appear divided or opposed to their own state, it tarnishes the nation’s image and undermines its credibility on global platforms.”
They opined that by championing a unified vision of progress, the diaspora can regain its role as a bridge between Pakistan and the world, fostering mutual respect and understanding.
